Love Never Gives Up

Hello Everyone!
The challenge card for this month was to use the new in colors.  With the death of my husband I have not been able to focus on crafting or on purchasing many of the new beautiful colors of ink and awesome new stamp sets.
When I started this card I did not really have any idea what I would end up with.  In all honesty this is the first time that I have crafted since my husband got sick and died over a month ago.  In those first few days of hospital time I received a package of stencil brushes that I ordered.  I had seen stencil brushes used to smoothly apply in on card stock.  I am very happy with my first attempt at using the brushes.  The ink almost looks air brushed on..no swirls etc.  The background image has 4 colors mixed on!!

List of supplies:

Stamp Sets -
High tide (the birds)
Rooted in Nature (the tree)
Waterfront (both sentiments)
Touches of Texture (flowers)
Ink Pads-
Crumb Cake
Pool Party
Old Olive
Grape Fruit Grove **NEW COLOR**
Mint Macaron  **RETURNING COLOR**
Momento Tuxedo Black
Paper-
Grape Fruit Grove (4 1/8 x 5 3/8)
Whisper White (4 x 5 1/4)
Whisper White card base (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 folded dimensions)
Other supplies I used-
Black Micron Pen
low tack tape or painters tape
Aqua Painter
acrylic blocks
glue or tape runner
Small oval punch
First, you will need to tape down your whisper white card stock piece.  I would suggest you touch your tape to your clothing or your skin before sticking it to your paper.  By doing so you reduce the chance that your tape will tear your paper when your remove it later.  When you are taping down your paper, you can get a straight line by using grid paper as a guide.  The reason I taped down my paper is so that I could get a defined line on the edge of the paper and so that the paper would not move around while I was applying ink.
The ink I began with was Mint Macaron.  When you are using stencil brushes you will want to begin your stroke across the paper by actually brushing across the painters tape.  I would suggest first brushing across scrap paper so that you leave behind any heavy portions of ink.  After I was happy with the first color I moved worked from the bottom up with the Crumb Cake ink.  In the middle of the image I applied the Grape Fruit Grove.  The last color I applied was the Pool Party.  For the most part, I used this color around the edges of the Mint Macaron to add a little depth.
Stencil Brushes
Next I stamped my images in Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  If I had been planning to do a large amount of water coloring I would have used Stazon to avoid having the ink bleed.  After stamping, I used my Aqua Painter to color in the flowers with Grape Fruit Grove and the leaves with Old Olive.
With a scrap of whisper white I stamped my sentiment and punched it out with a small oval punch.  I used the same oval punch to cut an oval of Grape Fruit Grove paper out of the piece I had reserved as my mat.  This is one way to conserve paper, nobody will ever know that I punched an oval out of that piece because it will be covered by my whisper white.  Because the ovals are the same size I offset the bottom oval so that it would be seen.
After stamping the outside images and coloring in all of the flowers I carefully removed the painters tape from my image.  With my micron pen I drew a wavy line around my image.  The wavy line helps define the image.
